I used it in my bath b/c I had a rash develop on my wrist and was worried about, gulp, Scabies. Even though the rash, well, really, tiny bite marks disappeared during the week, I was worried as Scabies usually only take hold after a month or so. As a prophylactic, I used tea tree oil. One of the neighbors complained that I used too much and it aggravated asthma, as any strong scent can do, so it IS important to just use a few drops in bathwater, not an ounce, like I did, but my lungs feel clearer, my voice, sotto voce for years, now squeaks again, which is, errr, normal anyway, and my skin feels good...no bees yet! And also the little water bugs that favor my kitchen sink area...they did not like the scent and have temporarily vacated.
